Most Communities In Schools volunteer opportunities are located on a school campus. To become a Communities In Schools volunteer, please first complete the application.

ANNUAL TRACK & FIELD EVENT
Assist Site Coordinators and Case Managers in supervising participants during the event. Each independent school district has an application process for prospective volunteers. Any individual interested in becoming a volunteer with Communities In Schools of Greater Central Texas, Inc. must do so through the school district in which they want to volunteer. Volunteers are required to read and sign a confidentiality agreement prior to accessing sensitive information. Volunteers must comply with CIS personnel policies as well as the policies of the school district. (E.g. confidentiality, student supervision, student contact, and dress code).


REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to supervise up to five (5) participants at a time
  • Must follow directives from the campus Site Coordinator and/or Case Manager
  • Complete and submit an application to the campus Site Coordinator and/or Case Manager you wish to assist

ORGANIZE A DRIVE FOR STUDENTS IN NEED
Work with friends, co-workers, or an organization to collect items for students in need. The most needed items are:

  •  Shoe, sock, underwear, belt drive
  •  Hygiene kit drive & assembly
  •  Gift card drive
